Weatherspoon Art Museum

This piece was mounted low, close to the floor.  Can't remember the artist's name.  Made of canvases, oil and wood.  Wish it was plaster.

Dana Duff's New Currency 1988.  Salt discs and chrome-plated steel bands.

 Sol LeWitt

This was my favorite piece from the show, Scott Richter's Dutch Quiz 1996, made from oil paint and silicone medium.  I don't think my camera was up to he challenge of capturing the colors accurately.

SECCA's Light and Space Exhibit

For more information go to: Light and Space

Stanislov Libensky and Jaroslava Brychtova are Czech artists who have collaborated over the years. The pieces featured in this exhibit are melted glass in geometric molds.

I really liked the pedestals used to display the work.

This is one of my favorite pieces.  If only I could afford it!

As I walked around the exhibit I thought about how neat glass forms would be as a building material.  I whole wall made of block forms like these.  When I visited SECCA's website I saw that they have one piece of architectural work in Charlotte, NC.  I really want to go and see it.
