Home Life

As the end of the lease of our current apartment
approaches I have been daydreaming about
the look of our next place.

Interiors

Recently I've been attracted to interior lighting.
This house in Kyoto has nice cement panel walls.

Sometimes I don't particularly like the interiors themselves,
but to the feeling on the environment created by the lighting.

 Chill vibes

I have a knitting machine (not the one pictured here) but it isn't up and running yet.
I just wish I was knitting like these women are...

Funny Museum Finds

As I approached this painting I asked myself, What's going on with this horse?

Other than the work's ambiguous subject matter (how did that horse get onto that tiny island?  Is he scared of the mermaid?) I noticed that the horse's head is too small for its body and so is its tiny tail.  Other than that, he seems pretty happy.

What I found most funny about this was it is a Goya painting!

German Angel

My favorite piece in the North Carolina Art Museum.
I would love to have this at the head of my bed so he could look down on me.
The museum is currently showing Rembrant if anyone is in town.

Weaving Lab

Ever wonder how gold cording is made?

Detail shot of the yarns going up to make the cord.  Any idea how old this machine is?

Ever wonder how my jacquard weavings are made?

Pattern Crazy

Since I've started school I've been doing so much pattern work that I'm seeing patterns everywhere.

The one above is really incredible; many things happening at once.

This sweater has an electronic appeal.

Saving the best for last, one of my all-time favorite patterns.
